Study tips for last 1 month

Hello everyone,

So, it is not even a month left for boards and you need to finish your final preparation.

Following is what I recommend you to do for each of the subjects in this last phase.

English I

1) Try solving as many exercises as you can from various offline and online sources. Exercises should be from the last four topics mentioned below:

  • Essays
  • Letters
  • E-mail/Notice
  • Unseen Comprehension
  • Tenses
  • Prepositions
  • Synthesis of sentences
  • Transformation of sentences

2) Practice reading comprehension and summary writing along with essay writing. Try learning some frequently used quotes and proverbs which will help in essay writing.

3) Letters, e-mail and notice are all about formats. Make sure to practice the correct format before the exam. Click here to find the official CISCE format.

English II-

Try making your own summaries for all the chapters. This definitely helps.

Summarize one chapter or a poem daily. By doing this, you’ll have all the chapters’ summary ready in your hand.

In English II [Prose and Poetry]: The chapters and poems which have been asked earlier in the previous years’ papers are usually not repeated. While studying, you must pay more attention on those chapters and poems which were not asked in the previous years’ papers. Please note: The same rule cannot be applied in case of Merchant of Venice , in which many scenes are repeated.

Hindi-

As I keep on saying, Hindi is one subject where you can score marks very very easily.

Learn a few quotes or sayings and you’re done preparing for your essay part.

For vocabulary and grammar part, learn one topic(paryavachi, vilom, muhavre, etc) everyday. The Grammar part is usually repeated from the past years’ papers.

And for literature part:

Sahitya Sagar:

The chapters and poems which have been asked earlier in the previous years’ papers are usually not repeated. While studying, you must pay more attention on those chapters and poems which were not asked in the previous years’ papers.

Ekanki Sanchay:

Do those 3 chapters which were not asked in the last year’s exam. For example: If you are writing your Board exam in 2019, do those chapters from ekanki sanchay which were not asked in 2018.

The reason why I’m insisting you on doing only these chapters and not others is that, the Board has this trend of not repeating literature question (Hindi or English). This is the reason why the literature books for English and Hindi change every 4-5 years.
